In the past decade, the main source of data growth has been the increase of personal computers, smart phones and other consumer devices. In the future, with the gradual expansion of embedded devices, including security cameras, smart meters, chip cards and vending machines, big data will explode in the future, and this part of big data needs to create a lot of space for storage.

In this regard, cloud storage has become an inevitable way. According to the calculation of Marketersmedia, the global cloud storage market will reach US $30.7 billion in 2017, and will reach US $88.91 billion by 2022, with an annual compound growth rate of 23.7%, and the market size is expected to reach 104 billion in 2023. With more perfect infrastructure and higher Internet penetration, more and more small and medium-sized enterprises adopt cloud storage, which will become the main factor of cloud storage market growth. Therefore, the storage mode focusing on decentralized storage has great development opportunities.

However, there are some problems in the application of centralized storage, such as: the data center is not distributed enough, the utilization rate of storage resources is difficult to be adjusted flexibly, the bandwidth cost of data center is high, and the problems of data privacy and sovereignty.
In short, under the centralized storage, the user’s data can be deleted, stolen, and the download bandwidth is limited. Moreover, in the era of 5G and edge computing, the existing centralized storage has little support for the scenes of edge computing and some black swan events with a sudden increase and decrease of data volume.

Decentralized storage can solve the above problems through the decentralization of data sovereignty and data physical storage. However, in order to achieve decentralized storage, we need to solve three technical problems: the supervision and quantification of node storage work, the incentive of nodes and the storage resources provided by nodes in various practical applications.

Authmen uses HCGraph, which is a trusted computing technology based on heterogeneous TEE. With the help of Gossip Protocol, it builds a “trusted acquaintance” network between consensus nodes using different TEE technologies, constructs a “conspiracy default” model of global nodes, and efficiently locates trusted nodes, making consensus more efficient and cost-effective. Especially in the edge computing scenario, compared with the centralized cloud storage, the decentralized storage of Authmen is closer to the edge side, which can achieve the effect of relatively low cost and high performance.

Authmen also uses TEE technology to verify and protect the whole life cycle of the network running environment. In Authmen network, TEE is like an honest supervisor, periodically check whether the node is working normally and whether there is wrong storage or missing user data. TEE also serves as a safe. For the user’s sensitive data, tee encryption can make the storage node unable to read the user’s privacy. It’s just like a vault renter can’t open a customer’s vault.

Based on the above efficient consensus mechanism and TEE technology, Authmen can provide more stable, safe, efficient, low-cost and reliable storage services for its applications, B-end customers and C-end customers.

At present, the data generated every year is calculated at ZB level. The traditional centralized storage can not meet the high concurrency requirements of capacity and performance. It not only needs to spend a lot of time and energy to manage, but also has a certain degree of privacy leakage risk. With the natural characteristics of blockchain security and non tampering, decentralized storage will become the mainstream of cloud storage in the future. This is a market full of possibilities, which can help enterprises reduce costs and increase efficiency, and help users protect privacy. The value of Authmen will also be shown here.
